Swine Flu and possible protection from Vitamin D3

A new study says increasing our levels of vitamin D may protect against common respiratory infections such as colds and flu. Swine flu is likely a descendant of the infamous "Spanish flu.

Vitamin D is known as the sunshine vitamin however in northern hemisphere countries such as the Uk,it is not so easy to get adequate intake of this vitamin due to the fact that the sun does not shine very often, the Vitamin D prescribed by doctors and available in our health food shops is the wrong sort of Vitamin D.
Scientific evidence suggests that higher levels of Vitmain D may actually prevent outbreak of flu.

The type of Vitamin D our bodies require is Vitamin D3 also known as Cholecalciferol.

Weak campaign

http://www.nhs.uk/Change4Life/Pages/default.aspx

The current UK campaign to get children and their families motivated to get fit and healthy looks impressive at first sight.
It is the government campaign that is just putting ticks in boxes,if it were a true attempt to get the country healthy they would put bans on junk food advertising the same way they did with the tobacco industry.
Instead we have chocolate manufacturers sponsoring Soap operas and Olmpic/sports teams.
They should be putting an obesity tax on junk food, and using it too fund the NHS that surely will be crippled by this epidemic.

this advert that is shown on UK television is all but pointing to the way of the Paleo-liftsyle as a key to good health.

Just say no

A new scheme that would allow researchers to access patient records is being considered, presumablythis will allow drugs companies to taylor drugs to clients lifestyle.

http://www.healthcarerepublic.com/news/GP/LatestNews/886697/Statins-scheme-threatened-lack-access/

Who in there right mind would give researchers consent to access there medical records.
Do your own research about statins or any other new drug you are prescibed do not just take your doctors word that they are safe.

Todays Workout.

Density style keg loading.

I lodaed a keg onto a platform that is around 3 feet high non stop for 5minutes 30 seconds and managed 42 reps.
The only rules I use is the keg is loaded vertically hands off the keg when loaded but touch and go on the floor.I use a twisting motion to work the core side muscles.

2nd part of workout 3 sets of 5 reps with dumbell snatch at 50lbs.
Then I finnisehd with 5 minutes jump rope.

All done in around 15 minutes.

Beer -Gluten Free Lager

I managed to locate some Gluten Free Lager at my local Booths Supermarket(also available at Tescos).
It is called GFL Which stands for what exactly it is.
GFL is brewed by Nick Stafford's Hambleton Ales,The colour is quite cloudy which is normally associated with a wheat beer, the taste is quite dry with citrus hints and an almost very mellow mint taste in the background which stays very much in the background as I only really detected it on my fist mouthful it has a mighty 5.2% alcohol by volume, which is quite a kick it is relatively strong for a lager it is certainly at the higher end..
It is quite easy drinking and would go down well with a summer barbeque or spicy food.I could see this being a pleasant addition to anyone that wants an occasional beer but may have trouble consuming anything that contains Gluten.
I would give this 8/10.
